Metrology Programming Manager

The Metrology Programming Manager will oversee the team of Inspection Equipment Programmers operating within the Machine Shop. This position plays a key role in collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish and achieve standards and goals for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality parts to our customers. The manager is responsible for driving ongoing improvements in metrology programming processes.
Key Responsibilities of the Metrology Programming Manager :
Lead, mentor, and nurture a team of direct reports, including inspection programmers, to cultivate a productive and collaborative environment.
Act as a crucial member of the manufacturing quality leadership team, working closely with the Inspection Manager and Process Quality Engineering (PQE) Manager.
Promote a culture of teamwork, operational excellence, customer focus, quality awareness, safety, and process efficiency.
Effectively manage shop floor change projects and product transitions.
Work with cross-functional teams to develop and execute tactical plans that meet operational targets for quality, cost, delivery, and safety.
Promote a continuous improvement mindset and implement lean manufacturing strategies, concentrating on enhancing process and programming practices.
Establish standardized programming methods and inspection tools to streamline programming tasks.
Identify opportunities to optimize processes, including enhancing inspection equipment and work holding techniques.
Anticipate and address potential inspection challenges in advance to prevent disruptions.
Resolve issues that may impact quality, cost, delivery, and safety targets.
Ensure compliance with company protocols and procedures in the inspection programming division.
Facilitate prompt and accurate communication and reporting with stakeholders.
Coordinate services to ensure effective support planning, provision, and utilization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams while embodying the company's Culture and Values.
Required Qualifications
Experience : Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a machine shop setting with increasing levels of responsibility.
Management : At least 5 years of successful management experience, including :
Demonstrated proficiency in leading, developing, and mentoring high-performing teams.
Experience in leading through influence and collaborating with diverse teams.
Effective leadership during organizational changes.
Technical Skills : Proficiency in CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines) and Automated Inspection equipment.
Continuous Improvement : Proven track record of implementing lean manufacturing strategies and process / programming enhancements.
Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualification
Experience with Zeiss CMM equipment.
