The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) AI Solutions team is hiring a Principle Software Developer (IC-4) to lead the design and delivery of intelligent, production-grade AI systems. As a key member of this fast-paced team, you'll contribute to projects that directly impact internal productivity and external customer success — from agent-based report generation to real-time data analysis tools. As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, system design, implementation, testing, and troubleshooting. Your work will focus on developing AI-powered applications and agent frameworks for a variety of internal and external use cases. These solutions will be deployed and scaled across OCI cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities : You’ll be responsible for staying up to date on the rapid evolution of AI technologies and best practices, and will help guide and mentor junior engineers (IC2 / IC3) as needed. You will participate in daily stand-ups and are expected to lead projects and initiatives that drive meaningful product and business outcomes.

Technical Scope : Level : IC-4, Focus : Backend AI / ML systems, data pipelines, and cloud-deployed applications

Core Technologies :

Languages : Python (required), Java (preferred)
Cloud : Experience with OCI, AWS, or similar platforms
AI / ML : LLM fine-tuning, hyperparameter optimization, agent orchestration
Data Engineering : Ingest and transform structured / unstructured data (e.g., JIRA logs, PDFs, databases, charts)

Must-Haves :

5+ years of backend software development (Python / Java)

Strong understanding of cloud architecture and deployment

Hands-on experience building and fine-tuning LLM-based systems

Experience leading technical projects or mentoring team members

Passion for AI innovation and active usage of tools like OpenAI or ChatGPT

Strong communication and presentation skills

Nice-to-Haves :

Experience with OpenAI SDKs, LangChain, or multi-agent systems

Background in NLP, computer vision, or speech recognition

Developed AI report generators, chatbot interfaces, or agent communication tools

Experience with retrospective automation (e.g., JIRA issue mining into dashboards)

US : Hiring Range in USD from : $96,800 - $223,400 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
