Financial Controller Opportunity
Sue Sumrell is recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to manage and oversee the financial operations of a client in Portland. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of all accounting activities, while maintaining all accounting and financial reporting for multiple entities. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail and leadership skills to support financial reporting, budgeting, and operational decision-making. This is an onsite Portland, Oregon position. Only local candidates will be accepted.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Manage cash flow across multiple entities and ensure precise tracking of all cash activities.
- Lead the budgeting process by collaborating with operations to forecast revenue and expenses effectively.
- Monitor budget-to-actual performance and provide actionable insights to improve financial outcomes.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate tax filings with external CPAs and maintain documentation for audits and reviews.
- Manage treasury operations, including cash management and approval of invoices, payroll entries, and vendor contracts.
- Provide financial reporting for multiple entities.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, ideally in real estate.Proficiency in cash-basis accounting and financial analysis.Familiarity with property management software and advanced Excel skills.Strong organizational capabilities and attention to detail.Proven ability to communicate effectively with non-financial stakeholders and team members.Leadership skills to manage and develop accounting staff.Experience with multi-entity portfolios is preferred.Email your resume directly to sue.sumrell@roberthalf.com
