Senior Consultant - Metallurgy / Materials Science

Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating forensic investigations as a materials and / or metallurgical engineer. Job duties include directing and performing metallurgical laboratory work, site and laboratory inspections, authoring technical reports, communicating with staff and clients, and meeting project goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform forensic, root cause failure analysis in industrial, insurance, and / or litigation projects as part of a team environment
• Write technical reports, communicate effectively with clients, perform research and present technical material clearly and concisely to clients and internal colleagues
• Ability to review and understand technical literature and reports
• Perform both tradition and case-specific testing and / or analysis
• Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of work
• Coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget
• Potential to testify in deposition or trial in litigation matters as an expert witness
• Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems
• Direct the work of other staff regarding any of the above responsibilities
• Travel as required for project work and business and professional development events
