Food Service Aid

Function : The Food Service Aid is responsible for the supervision of students during breakfast and lunch periods in the cafeteria lavatories and on school grounds that supports student-centered classrooms that promote discourse and collaboration. This position is responsible for assisting in collaboration with the school staff and the food service company staff in providing an orderly means of distributing meals. The Food Service Aide reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer with directives from the School Principal. Essential Duties & Responsibilities : Provide supervision of children during lunch and / or breakfast that trays are emptied properly into proper receptacles including tables between servings and at the conclusion of the breakfast and / or lunch clean the floor during and at the end of the breakfast and lunch for the disposal of trash and cleaning of the cafeteria movement of students during lunch period by assisting them in obtaining straws napkins utensils on playground duty be sure to move about so that all areas of the playground are visually student confidentiality (e.g. student eligibility for free and reduced lunch student account information etc.) for the purpose of protecting student privacy. Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned and are consistent with this Skills Experience and Knowledge : Demonstrates strong customer service skills and the ability to interact patiently and positively with the public school staff parents / guardians and students. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relations with the public and to give directions to students in a quiet firm and positive behavior that models appropriate school strong communication skills orally and in writing. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructionsRequired Qualifications : Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of be able to develop a good rapport with Diploma or GED preferred
