Store Manager Trainer

The Store Manager Trainer is responsible for traveling to new store locations and assisting Area and District Managers with post-grand opening training. This role ensures that new Store Managers are fully equipped with the knowledge, skills, and leadership abilities needed to deliver operational excellence, exceptional customer service, and meet company performance standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Train new store managers following grand openings, covering company policies, operations, leadership expectations, sales strategy, inventory management, and customer service standards.
  • Conduct hands-on, in-store training sessions to reinforce UKG usage and Area / District Manager guidance.
  • Coach store managers on leading by example in all aspects of store performance, including customer interaction, merchandising, team management, and operational compliance.
  • Support succession planning and talent development in collaboration with regional leaders.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

  • 35 years of experience as a Store Manager or Multi-Unit Leader in a retail setting
  • 13 years of supervisory experience
  • Proven background in training, mentoring, or onboarding retail leaders
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, POS systems, visual merchandising, and loss prevention
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and influence others
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with LMS platforms a plus
  • Able to travel up to 75% with minimal notice

    • Education & Experience Requirements :

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 35 years of relevant experience
  • No licenses or certifications required

    • Work Scope & Conditions :

  • Supervisory Responsibilities : May direct daily activities of store-level team members during training, but does not hire, terminate, discipline, or conduct formal reviews
  • Decision Making : Contributes to operational decisions that affect training and store performance
  • Problem Solving : Applies general precedents and professional judgment to varied situations
  • Work Independence : Follows guidelines with supervisory support available
  • Internal / External Contact : Regular contact with internal staff and store-level employees for training and support
  • Fiscal Responsibility : None

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Must be able to carry up to 40 lbs
  • Must be able to travel extensively
  • Active listening and physical presence required in stores

    • Work Environment :

  • Face-to-face in retail store settings
  • Indoor, collaborative, and fast-paced team environments
