Environmental Compliance Manager

Work of this position involves direction of all compliance programs dealing with Federal, State and local water and wastewater legislation and regulations. The work also involves the response to and resolution of illegal discharge to the sanitary sewerage system and the storm drainage system.

Minimum qualifications : Either a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, Environmental Studies, Biology or closely related field from an accredited college or university OR a Master's Degree in Public Health from an accredited college or university. And either permanent or probationary status with the Sewerage & Water Board as a Utility Senior Services Manager or higher and four (4) years of experience in that or higher-level classification with the Sewerage and Water Board's Environmental Department. OR Six (6) years of exempt senior level professional experience in water and / or wastewater treatment with responsibility for the compliance with the regulation of Federal, State and local environmental protection laws. At least two (2) years of this experience must have included supervisory responsibilities for a major division within a company. Current Class Four (4) Water Treatment certification issued by the Louisiana Department of Health. Current Class Four (4) Wastewater Collection certification issued by the Louisiana Department of Health.
