Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a NY RN license and recent Epic experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Operating Room of a hospital setting
  • Provide circulating duties with scrub experience preferred
  • Patient population includes surgical cases consistent with an OR environment
  • 12-hour day shifts with a variable schedule, working every other weekend as needed
  • On-call required once every 3rd or 4th weekend and one night per week
  • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays : Thanksgiving, Christmas / Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day / Eve
  • Floating to other units required
  • Responsibilities include perioperative patient care and circulating in the OR
  • No block scheduling allowed for any reason
  • Must provide care in a region with winter weather conditions; vehicles should have all-season or snow tires between November and April
  • Complete work history and employment details required for consideration
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Holiday coverage is part of the assignment expectations

    • Requirements

  • Active NY RN license or proof of pending NY license required at time of consideration
  • A minimum of 2 years of recent OR RN experience required
  • AHA BLS certification required
  • Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required
  • Circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred
  • Candidates must have reliable personal or rental transportation as public transportation is not accessible
