Job Description Summary :

Westech International, Inc. seeks an experienced Logistics Portfolio Director to support Department of Defense programs. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and will manage active contracts and be responsible for developing new portfolio business. The ideal candidate will have a strong military logistics background combined with extensive civilian management experience. This role involves managing complex logistics operations and developing proposals for DoD contracts.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute strategies for winning and operating DoD logistics contracts.
  • Prepare and review DoD proposals, providing technical expertise and cost analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD contracting standards, competency models, and program requirements.
  • Manage active DoD contracts.
  • Oversee supply chain management, maintenance, and transportation operations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance operational performance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with contracting officers, program managers, and military units.
  • Maintain customer-focused relationships and professional networks.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and logistics databases.

Requirements :

Minimum Requirements :

  • Former Military Officer, Warrant Officer (WO), Limited Duty Officer (LDO), or E7 with logistics experience.
  • Minimum 5 years civilian management experience managing logistics operations exceeding $10MM.
  • Familiarity with DoD logistics systems (GCSS-Army, Navy ERP, Air Force Integrated Logistics System, DLA tools).
  • Understanding of DoD contracting standards and competency models.
  • Experience with DoD proposal development and acquisition processes.

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in logistics, systems management, or operations research.
  • Helpful Certifications :
  • DAWIA Life Cycle Logistics
  • Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) – SOLE
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) – APICS
  • Lean Six Sigma
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent

    • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Experience managing a technical workforce.
  • Customer-focused approach with proven networking ability.
  • Ability to interpret and apply DoD policies, logistics regulations, and supply chain standards.
