Co-Op Quality Internship

Position Summary :

The Quality Engineer Co-Op implements the manufacturing processes required to ensure achievement of daily weekly and monthly performance goals in the area safety quality throughput delinquencies productivity first pass yield and variable cost. This position typically spends 50% of work time on the production floor and 50% of work time in an office environment. Must be a US citizen to be in the position

Primary Duties & Responsibilities :

• Identifies prioritizes and implements process improvements that will deliver achievement of daily weekly and monthly performance metrics in the area of safety quality throughput delinquencies productivity first pass yield and variable cost. This is done by utilizing data mining tracking reports documentation collating acceptable engineering techniques and process knowledge.
• Partner with manufacturing quality engineering maintenance and purchasing leaders to manage direct and coordinate tracking of Material Nonconforming reports.
• Implement calibration tracking of tooling gages and fixtures via licensed software needed to produce products that meet customer requirements.
• Develop standard work instructions needed to improve safety increase quality increase productivity reduce scrap and eliminate delinquencies.
• Stay abreast of technological advancements and process improvements which may impact production.
• Maintain system documentation for processes and procedures.
• Foster a Safety 24 / 7 culture; driving safety initiatives to ensure zero safety related incidents annually.
• Generate daily reports related to Safety and Quality as necessary.
