Concrete Finisher Position

Concrete Finishers utilize special tools and apply finisher skills and knowledge to level, flatten, and smooth concrete.
Duties:
- Champions "The Layton Way" by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
- Ensures that "Constructing with Integrity" is delivered by working with honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work.
- Apply applicable materials to hardened concrete walls for a smoother architectural appearance.
- Identify hazards associated with task assignments and ask questions if clarification is needed.
- Comply with all the safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Safety personnel.
- Work effectively as a team member of the field workforce.
- Follow supervisor instructions and decisions.
- Understand and follow lock out/tag out procedures.
- This position may supervise apprentice finishers.
Qualifications:
- Three years of concrete finishing or related work experience.
- Understands and conveys basic English commands, questions, and instructions regarding commercial construction.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to use carpentry math to calculate measurements.
- Owns the tools required of the Concrete Finisher position.
- Commits to and meets all scheduled attendance and production deadlines.
- At least 18 years of age.
Working Conditions:
- Exerts in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Ascends or descends ladders, scaffolding, and steep slopes with agility.
- Maintains body equilibrium to prevent falling from precarious situations.
- Lowers the body to floor level and move about with agility.
- Extends out and retrieves objects outside immediate range.
- Supports oneself and stays in an upright position.
- Presses against something with substantial steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
- Exerts a considerable force to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
- Raises substantial objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
- Maneuvers small objects precisely by whatever means.
- Seizes an object by applying considerable force.
- Detects attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, texture, tension, or force by tactile means.
- Expresses or exchanges ideas by means of the spoken word.
- Perceives the nature of sounds with no less than a 40db loss @ 500 Hz, 1,000 Hz, and 2,000 Hz with or without correction.
- Is subject to substantial repetitive motions of the body or its parts.
- Must have good depth perception, field of vision, near acuity.
- Frequently: Exposed to weather (Occasionally: Extreme cold, extreme heat, wet and/or humid, exposure to dust and...)
