We are seeking a Mainframe DB2 Developer to join our team. This role will involve full lifecycle mainframe application development, DB2 database programming, and maintenance of mission-critical batch and online systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2 development, System Z environments, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and modernization of legacy mainframe applications , along with a passion for reliable enterprise computing.

Job Description :

Trilyon is seeking an experienced Mainframe DB2 Developer to support large-scale enterprise applications running on System Z platforms. The Mainframe DB2 Developer will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining COBOL / DB2 applications, writing efficient SQL queries, and creating JCL scripts to support batch processes. In this role, the Mainframe DB2 Developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, troubleshoot production issues, and deliver optimized, stable, and scalable mainframe solutions. The Mainframe DB2 Developer must be highly proficient in IBM mainframe environments and able to deliver high-quality code within fast-paced project timelines.

Responsibilities :

Design, develop, test, and implement mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and DB2.

Write and optimize DB2 SQL queries, stored procedures, and database access logic.

Perform application maintenance, debugging, and troubleshooting across System Z environments.

Develop and maintain JCL scripts to support batch jobs and critical business processes.

Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver enhancements.

Participate in code reviews, quality checks, and performance tuning activities.

Support production systems by identifying root causes and implementing long-term fixes.

Document technical specifications, deployment steps, and system configurations.

Follow established development standards, mainframe best practices, and secure coding procedures.

Required Skills & Experience :

10+ years of hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, and DB2 application development.

Strong expertise with System Z Enterprise COBOL and mainframe utilities.

Experience designing, tuning, and troubleshooting DB2 database applications.

Ability to write robust batch and online programs in a high-volume environment.

Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience :

Experience modernizing legacy mainframe systems.

Familiarity with enterprise-level financial, insurance, or healthcare mainframe systems.
