Job Summary
Busy Immigration Law Firm is seeking an Attorne y to join our Immigration Law firm. In this role, you will represent in court, provide legal counsel, perform legal research, guide paralegals, draft documents, and update and maintain files. You will work closely with paralegals, other colleagues, and owner / manager to provide excellent legal services to our clients. If you are a self-starter with a passion for law, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
Representing clients in immigration court proceedings and interviews with agencies like USCIS, EOIR & ICEPrepare contracts, briefs, motions, and other legal documents for EOIR and USCISConduct legal research for complex mattersPrepare for and attend legal proceedingsProvide legal counsel in conjunction with manager / ownerMaintain detailed and accurate client recordsWork with paralegals team overseeing legal research and case preparationProvide consultations to potential clientsManaging communication between clients and legal team membersCoordinating case timelines and ensuring deadlines are met across the legal team
Qualifications
Successful completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school and bar examActive member of the American Bar Association (ABA)1 - 2 years of experience attending legal proceedingsStrong verbal and written communication skillsDetailed orientedFamiliarity with Microsoft Office suiteStrong negotiation and problem-solving skillsAbility to collaborate with colleagues to best serve clients.Spanish preferred but not required.Position is required for Philadelphia Office in PA or New Brunswick Office in NJSome traveling might be required to the Newark EOIR or the USCIS OfficesFor anyone out of state relocation must be done before start date
