POSITION SUMMARY

The Fabrication Material Handler is responsible for handling materials that are incoming or

outgoing to production lines or stock locations in fabrication as well as incoming and outgoing

materials for outsource painting - all in accordance with the quality procedure as outlined by

BCI. This Fabrication Material Handler reports to the Lead, Fabrication Material Handling.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Include the following, but other duties may be assigned.

  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies

to move and deliver materials to proper locations within Fabrication and Production

areas.

  • Deliver or pick-up materials via industrial powered equipment (i.e., forklift, stand up lift,

    • etc.).

  • Pick jobs in accordance with job order requirements with a high level of efficiency and

    • accuracy.

  • Replenish production line point of use parts.
  • Perform data entry tasks for material movement in the Made2Manager (M2M) ERP

    • System.

  • Complete cycle counts on a weekly basis to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain workmanship standards and quality standards by conducting first-piece and inprocess inspection.
  • Ensure all activities in the work area comply with company and ISO policies and

    • procedures.

  • Maintain organization of the pallet racking and small parts areas in fabrication.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and

    • regulations.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results needed through cooperation

    • with team members and acceptance of re-assignments as directed by supervisors.

  • Regular and reliable attendance.

    • ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience within a warehouse or storeroom environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Valid and active driver's license with positive driving record.
  • Ability to operate a forklift or obtain certification within six (6) months of hire date.
  • Basic computer skills including an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

    • VALUED BUT NOT REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Inventory control experience.

    • REPORTING TO THIS POSITION

  • No direct reports.

    up to thirty (30) pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to fifty (50) pounds using a crane or

    asking for assistance.

    Normal working schedule : Monday through Thursday, 6 : 00am EST to 4 : 30pm EST; occasional

    overtime and weekend hours required at times. The noise levels in some manufacturing

    facilities frequently may exceed the normal dBA. The employee is required to wear all

    necessary personal protective equipment (safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection,

    masks, etc.) while working or when walking through the plant.
