[job_card.job_description]Program, set up, and operate CNC machines independently, using CAM software and G / M code for 2D / 3D toolpaths. Interpret complex blueprints and apply GD&T to ensure parts meet quality standards. Test and adjust machine settings, tooling, and programs for accuracy and efficiency. Inspect parts with precision measuring tools and identify / resolves machining issues. Review designs for manufacturability and recommend process improvements. Mentor entry-level machinists and programmers, providing guidance on setups, programming, and troubleshooting. Collaborate with teams and document processes while following safety and data protection policies. Make minor code and mechanical adjustments to optimize productivity and quality. Communicate setup, troubleshooting, and process improvement recommendations effectively. Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Machining & Fabrication. Associate’s degree, technical certificate, or equivalent required. Minimum of 4 – 5 years of relevant CNC machining and programming experience Solid understanding of CNC programming properties, methods, and CAM software. Proficient in Mastercam and / or Hypermill (or equivalent). Strong understanding of GD&T symbols and their application. Ability to read complex blueprints and make minor code modifications. Strong written and verbal English language communication skills Excellent teamwork / interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group Demonstrate commitment and adherence to Sigma Design Core Values Pass a post-offer background verification

Sigma Design is a product development, engineering, and manufacturing firm. - This position will be In-Office
- Friday – Sunday, 6 : 00 am – 6 : 30 pm
- $27.00 - $41.00 ($1 shift differential)
Primary Function :
The CNC Programmer and Machinist II is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling, lathe, 5-axis, 3-axis, or other machinery according to blueprint specifications. This role handles moderately complex parts independently, makes minor program adjustments as needed, and mentors entry-level machinists and programmers.

Work Environment
Standard machine shop environment with various types of machinery. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
