Job Title : Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)

Employment Type : Travel Nursing Contract

End Date : February 21, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Nursing Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00pm – 7 : 30am)

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years of recent cardiac stepdown or acute care nursing experience

Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Active Illinois RN license in good standing

BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care for cardiac stepdown patients during night shifts

Conduct initial assessments and develop individualized care plans

Implement nursing interventions and monitor patient progress in a clinical setting

Maintain accurate documentation of all patient care activities

Adjust care plans based on ongoing evaluation and patient needs

Promote patient and staff safety by identifying and addressing healthcare hazards

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team

Support professional development of peers and provide constructive feedback

Fulfill departmental competencies and participate in ongoing clinical education
