About the role
A manufacturing business is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to support day-to-day production for CNC machining centers and CNC lathe assembly. You'll drive lean / continuous improvement, support ISO 9001 standardization, and deliver hands-on solutions across CNC programming, routing development, assembly process improvement, and tooling / fixture design.
What you'll do
- Assure product and process quality through testing methods, standards, and documented processes
- Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes across fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials
- Lead lean-driven production improvements and cost reduction projects through implementation
- Facilitate continuous improvement using 5S, Standard Work, DMAIC, material flow, etc.
- Coordinate new product releases from Product Engineering into Manufacturing (support or lead)
- Coordinate and implement engineering changes across engineering, assembly, and quality
- Develop / modify manufacturing methods and equipment; collaborate with equipment vendors
- Improve efficiency via workflow analysis, space planning, and equipment / layout optimization
- Maintain product / process database and support manufacturing documentation
- Train and guide technicians to deliver improved outcomes
What you'll bring
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology (or related degree / experience)3+ years CAD / CAM experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Mastercam, Smartcam, or equivalent)Knowledge of CNC machine programming and core manufacturing processesStrong leadership plus written / verbal communicationProject management capabilityERP knowledge preferred (ideally JD Edwards)Six Sigma belt training preferredCompensation & benefits
