Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department role requiring a compact or OH RN license and previous travel nursing experience.
Responsibilities
Work in a 41-bed Emergency Department within a hospital settingServe a primarily adult patient population with approximately 5% pediatric visitsHandle over 40,000 patient visits annually with more than 1,100 EMS visits per monthPerform duties involving critical care drips, ventilators, and use of ultrasound, Philips Cardiac Monitoring, stretchers, and portable suctionsEvery third weekend and holiday rotation are requiredNo on-call responsibilitiesShifts are mid-shift, including options of 10A-10P, 11A-11P, and 1P-1ADuties include assessment, care planning, administering medications, and coordinating patient care throughout the hospitalCollaborate with an interprofessional team including ED Techs and HUCs; RT support is available but not staffed 24 / 7Provide emergency care from non-urgent to life-threatening cases, including medical illness, trauma, pediatric, geriatric, and mental health situationsParticipation in ongoing quality improvement and patient safety initiatives is expectedStudy guides for EKG testing will be providedScrub attire is requiredFirst time travelers are not considered for this roleRequirements
Active OH or compact RN license requiredCurrent ACLS and PALS certifications required; CEN and NIHSS preferredMinimum of 2 years recent Emergency Department experience required, 3+ years preferredPrior travel nursing experience in the Emergency Department is requiredMust pass a dysrhythmia (EKG) exam on the first day, with up to 2 attempts allowedExperience with critical drips, lines, and emergency procedures neededMust not reside within 50 miles of the facilityBenefits
