Knowledge of psychotropic medications. Description : The position involves working in a behavioral health setting that includes various patient units with different acuity levels. Staffing ratios are typically 8 patients to 1 nurse. Responsibilities include developing individualized care plans based on the needs of patients with mental health and behavioral issues. You will be responsible for administering psychiatric medications and monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions. The role also requires monitoring patients for physical and psychological symptoms, including vital signs and mental status changes. You will utilize effective communication skills to build trust and rapport with patients. The work schedule may include three 12-hour shifts each day, seven days a week, including weekends. Days off are not guaranteed unless specified in the contract. Floating is utilized where the greatest need is.
