The internship program offers an excellent opportunity for anyone aspiring to a wind turbine technician career in the wind energy sector. The combination of hands-on technical training, online trainings, and insights into various technical roles provides you with comprehensive knowledge of the broader aspects of our industry.
The 6- to 12-week on-site placement as a technician offers a solid foundation for deciding on a future career in our sector. Working alongside highly qualified colleagues, you will receive optimal preparation.
Candidates who are selected for an internship and complete it successfully will be strongly considered for future technician openings across the business.
The internship program is designed to pave the way for individuals to succeed in the wind energy industry. It offers a combination of practical experience and insights into various functional areas. It is an opportunity not only to learn but also to position oneself for a fulfilling and impactful career.
Are You Looking to :
Support with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems troubleshooting and repairs to support a site?
Generate required reports and other paperwork?
Learn how to recognize occurrences of wind turbine error codes and appropriately report the issue?
Assist in all areas of site operations?
Assist with high-voltage system maintenance and repair?
Are You Ready to :
Perform routine preventive maintenance on wind turbines bringing your skills in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics.
Perform unscheduled maintenance consisting of troubleshooting on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
Demonstrate the ability to learn advanced troubleshooting and repair of the wind turbines.
Establish and maintain general safety from the system / Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO).
What You’ll Need :
Ability to read and interpret documents, and follow instructions, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, given proper instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving at least one concrete variable in standardized situations.
Must be able to pass a physical exam and drug / alcohol screening.
Due to PPE constraints, those climbing turbines may not exceed 275 lbs.
The employee must be capable of lifting and / or moving up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus because of potential work in close confines.
Employees must be physically fit enough to free climb 300 ft multiple times a day while wearing 25+ lbs. of climbing gear and working in extreme weather conditions.
Must be capable of rescuing teammates anywhere in a tower in the event of an emergency.
