Position Overview
The Retail Flooring Sales Representative plays a vital role in driving product presence within retail flooring stores and showrooms. This position is responsible for selling, merchandising, and promoting flooring products throughout an assigned territory by engaging directly with retail staff, store managers, and customers. The representative acts as the key connection between the brand and the showroom floor ensuring products are well displayed, understood, and recommended.
Primary Responsibilities
Visit assigned retail stores and showrooms regularly to build and maintain strong relationships with store staff.
Train retail sales associates and managers on product lines, unique selling points, and installation options.
Ensure in-store displays are clean, current, and well-merchandised to maximize visibility and sales.
Coordinate with marketing to deliver and maintain point-of-purchase (POP) materials and promotional displays.
Provide hands-on product demonstrations and mini-trainings for store teams.
Influence sell-through by educating retail associates and promoting product preference among customers.
Track and report store visits, display compliance, and sales opportunities using CRM or field reporting tools.
Act as the point of contact for product feedback, inventory issues, and showroom display updates.
Participate in local retail events, promotions, or open houses to support partner stores and build brand awareness.
Collaborate with Regional Sales and Product teams to ensure alignment on territory goals and initiatives.
Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Experience & Qualifications
2+ years of experience in retail, showroom, or field-based sales (hard surface flooring experience preferred).
Strong presentation and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision across a territory.
High energy, outgoing personality, and strong customer service orientation.
Proficiency with mobile communication tools, CRM entry, and reporting apps.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Frequent driving to retail stores within the assigned territory.
Regular lifting or moving of displays (up to 40 lbs).
Standing for extended periods during showroom visits and events.
Daily use of mobile apps and devices for reporting and communication.
