Job Purpose
Honda is seeking a Unit Lead to oversee and guide a team of UX Designers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, user-centered experiences.
The Team Lead manages the team’s work, provides mentorship, and contributes to UX strategy while balancing business objectives and user needs. This position requires strong collaboration across product, engineering, and business teams to drive impactful design and research outcomes.
Key Accountabilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and provide performance feedback for UX Designers or UX Researchers
- Conduct performance reviews and support career growth for team members
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and learning
- Ensure the team is motivated, engaged, and inspired to achieve goals and objectives
UX Execution & Quality Oversight
Manage, review, and approve UX deliverables (e.g., wireframes, prototypes, research reports) to ensure quality and consistencyEnsure UX solutions align with best practices in usability, accessibility, and brand standardsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate UX insights into product developmentProcess Improvement & Strategy Contribution
Advocate for user-centered design and research methodologiesIdentify opportunities to enhance team workflows, design / research processes, and recommend actions for improvementSupport UX leadership in defining team goals and prioritiesQualifications, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor’s in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent experience6-8 years of experience in UX design, including leadership responsibilitiesExcellent stakeholder management, communication, presentation, and storytelling capabilitiesStrong knowledge of design and research methodologies, tools, and best practicesExperience leading and mentoring UX professionalsExcellent organizational skills and the ability to keep the team on trackInterpersonal and people skills, including facilitating smooth interactionsMindset of continuous improvement and raising the barWhat differentiates Honda and makes us an employer of choice?
