Hazardous Materials Handler

Location : Commerce City, CO

Shifts : 2nd or 3rd Shift

Industry : Environmental Services / Waste Management / Manufacturing

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, safetydriven Material Handler to join our team at a large solvent treatment, storage, and recycling facility. This role is handson and physically active, working in an outdoor industrial environment handling containerized waste materials.

You'll play a key role in the safe receipt, processing, and movement of materials across the facility.

Shifts & Pay

  • Day Shift Training : First 3-6 months
  • 2nd Shift : 2 : 00pm-12 : 00am (+$1 / hr shift differential)
  • 3rd Shift : 6 : 00pm-4 : 00am (+$2 / hr shift differential)

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, sort, and handle incoming waste materials.
  • Decontaminate and dispose of empty drums and containers per RCRA and site procedures.
  • Complete, maintain, and verify manifest documentation with accuracy.
  • Perform handson cleaning, decontamination, and general labor tasks.
  • Load / unload drums, totes, tankers, trailers, and other waste containers.
  • Follow all required PPE, safety rules, and operational procedures.

    • Qualifications

    Required :

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing, production, transloading, oil & gas, airport tarmac, or similar industrial environments
  • Experience with material handling, labor, picking, sorting, or scanning
  • Ability to operate an RF scanner
  • Comfortable using computers for email and basic communication (e.g., MS Teams)
  • Willingness to work outdoors in a 24 / 7 industrial facility

    • Preferred :

  • Knowledge of safety protocols and hazard awareness
  • Experience handling inventory in a warehouse or yard environment

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00 / hr.
