About the Opportunity

Our client, a fast-paced commodities business, is seeking an

Accounting Analyst

to join their team in Stamford, CT. This role offers a great opportunity for an entry-level professional or someone looking to re-enter the workforce. The Accounting Analyst will work closely with the global financial reporting and Treasury teams and will play an important role in processing invoices and payments using an automated payables system (Workday).

Key Responsibilities

Process global operating expense invoices in multiple currencies using a paperless automated payables system, ensuring timely approval and payment.

Code disbursements using the company chart of accounts by allocating costs to specific cost centers, projects, and legal entities, identifying capitalized vs. expensed costs.

Process payments, including printing checks, producing ACH batches, and initiating wire transfers in both USD and foreign currencies.

Liaise with the global onboarding team to ensure vendors are properly onboarded and vendor information is maintained accurately.

Maintain vendor payment instructions and adhere to company callback policies regarding changes to payment information.

Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies, and respond to vendor inquiries promptly.

Respond to employee and vendor inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Identify potential areas for process improvement and assist with various projects as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

Highly organized, dependable, and a self-starter.
