TGH is the area's only level I trauma center and one of just two ABA-verified adult & pediatric burn centers in Florida. With five medical helicopters, we transport critically injured or ill patients from 23 surrounding counties to receive the advanced care they need. The hospital is home to one of the busiest solid organ transplant centers in the country. TGH is a nationally designated comprehensive stroke center, and has a 32-bed Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit. Other outstanding centers include cardiovascular, orthopedics, high-risk and normal obstetrics, urology, ENT, endocrinology, and the Children's Medical Center, which features a nine-bed pediatric intensive care unit and pediatric kidney transplant services. Job Summary
Under general supervision, and following established policies, procedures and professional guidelines, is responsible to the Manager, of Patient Relations for providing "world class" service to all patients, visitors, physicians and staff by creating an exceptional experience beginning with their first impression. This service includes interactions in a timely and professional manner with all. Demonstrates a "can do" attitude. Represents the hospital to create an exceptional experience by putting the customer first. Exhibits flexibility in job responsibilities and hours of work. Must be able to oversee and engage members of the volunteer team assigned to Guest Services. Works in the family surgical and Emergency Department waiting rooms, as well as the main entrances as required. Performs job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Requires knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Minimum two (2) years of hospital work experience or equivalent customer service experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Epic.
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must demonstrate conflict resolution and organizational skills.
- Bilingual skills strongly preferred.
