Job Summary:

Assists with the implementation, maintenance, and support of our growing network infrastructure.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Inspects and installs network equipment and new technologies.
• Commissions new points of presence, including cabinets, racks, AC and/or DC power systems, connectivity, and network and other electronic equipment.
• Diagnoses and resolves onsite malfunctions.
• Ensures proper maintenance of onsite equipment.
• Troubleshoots fiber optic connectivity issues following industry best practices.
• Works independently to complete projects to specification and on schedule.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of related field experience or related experience with the following:
  • One or more Network Operating System CLI, i.e., Cisco IOS, Juniper JUNOS, etc.
  • Optical networks and related components, tools, and procedures.
  • Telecommunications AC and DC power systems.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
• Ability to respond to the needs of a 24/7/365 operation.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision depth perception, and ability to focus.
