Job Summary : Join our dedicated team as a Mobile Structural Welder, where you will play a crucial role in bringing projects to life through your welding expertise. We are seeking a skilled professional who can read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and diagrams to ensure high-quality and safe installations.
- Responsibilities :
- Interpret and execute project plans, blueprints, and diagrams effectively.
- Utilize Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) techniques in accordance with project requirements.
- Field install welds for a variety of structures, including ductwork, light fixtures, vents, fans, and metal sheeting.
- Choose appropriate filler materials based on experience and project specifications.
- Collaborate with the field labor crew to ensure efficient installations.
- Manage resources responsibly to maintain budget integrity and client satisfaction.
- Deburr and grind metals to achieve the desired surface finish.
- Commit to a safe working environment by adhering to established safety policies and procedures.
Other Responsibilities : May involve training or supervising others and performing various tasks across different positions.
Education / Experience :Preferred high school diploma or GED.Minimum three years of Journeyman Welding experience required; familiarity with Shielded Metal Arc Welding (STICK / ARC) or Flux Cored Arc Welding (FLUX) preferred.Industrial machine licenses (such as forklift) are a plus.Current OSHA 10 or MSHA Certification preferred.TWIC card preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :Understanding of machines and tools, including their design, use, and maintenance.Strong foundational knowledge in mathematics and their applications in welding.Familiarity with materials and methods used in constructing or repairing industrial structures.Proficient understanding of the English language, including grammar and composition.Applicable engineering science and technology knowledge relevant to the welding industry.Ability to use standard tools and equipment effectively.Capability to work both independently and as part of a team with moderate supervision.Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.Adept at visualizing layouts from plans and prints.Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical systems.Physical Requirements :Coordination of eye-hand movements with precision.Ability to use hands and fingers; reaching, manipulating, and feeling objects; bending, kneeling, or crawling.Good vision and hearing (corrective measures accepted).Capacity to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.Ability to squat, bend, or lie down for extended periods.Working Conditions :Exposure to fumes, dust, or airborne particles.Ability to work in loud environments.Regularly positioned near moving mechanical parts and vibrating machinery.Capability to endure fluctuating weather conditions.Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals or waste.Additional Information : Travel is required, as you will work from project sites across the nation for extended periods. Overtime, shift work, as well as holiday and weekend work may also be necessary.
