Does that sound like you? The Opportunity with McKinstry We are currently seeking a Business Unit Manager to join our team as a member of our growing Manufacturing division. As the leader of our dynamic manufacturing team, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our CLOB in a rapidly evolving industry. We are seeking a visionary and results-driven individual with a passion for innovation and a deep understanding of manufacturing and construction. Additionally, some responsibilities you will have include : Business Management Responsible for meeting revenue goals and achieving planned bookings. Develop and execute strategic and tactical business plans. Maintain production forecast models. Participate in monitoring and managing key business metrics. Report identified potential business risk elements and design and implement mitigation efforts. Develop and communicate key business metrics. Build and maintain relationships with industry leaders, associations, and organizations. Define and execute multi-year capital expenditure plans aligned with business growth, operational efficiency, and innovation goals. Evaluate potential investments using ROI, NPV, and payback period models. Assess financial and operational risks before committing capital. Lead the evaluation and implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies (e.g., robotics, IoT, AI) to enhance productivity. Department Leadership Exercises global decision-making by considering other departments within the company such as project management, engineering, sales, estimating, detailing, accounting, purchasing, etc. Manages department planning and decision-making. Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met. Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to streamline operations and reduce waste. Work closely with business leaders in construction, technology, and OSM for alignment in strategic roadmaps and initiatives. Continuously analyze production workflows to identify bottlenecks and implement throughput improvements. Champion quality assurance through root cause analysis and corrective action processes to drive zero-defect culture. Team Management Project staffing requirements and oversees project team requirements. Recruits, develops and retains high-performing employees. Train, mentor and manage first-level people supervisors and managers in effective tactics to attain team goals. Create performance plans, assesses performance and provide performance feedback. Communicate company and department goals, policies, plans, and priorities formally and informally. Acts as a steward of McKinstry culture; communicates and influences policies and procedures. What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry Bachelor's degree in construction management or related degree or equivalent work experience required. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
