DEVOPS ENGINEER
100% Remote | United States
OVERVIEW
We are supporting a high-growth health and biotechnology company that is building a cloud-native platform handling sensitive, large-scale biological and health data. This is a greenfield DevOps role where you will establish the infrastructure, tooling, and operational standards from day one.
This role is perfect for a DevOps Engineer who enjoys building systems the right way from the start and wants meaningful ownership rather than incremental maintenance work.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Architect and provision cloud infrastructure using AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, and VPC
- Build infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles
- Design and maintain CI / CD pipelines supporting Python / Django and React applications
- Manage containerized environments using Docker and introduce orchestration as scale requires
- Implement security best practices by default, including IAM, encryption, and network segmentation
- Establish monitoring and logging to track system health, performance, and reliability
- Support database operations including backups, scaling, and recovery
- Act as a foundational partner to engineering as the platform scales
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Strong hands-on experience with AWS in production environmentsDeep knowledge of Docker and containerized workflowsExperience building CI / CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CISolid scripting skills in Bash and / or PythonExperience supporting PostgreSQL or similar databasesStrong understanding of security fundamentals and access managementComfort working independently in a fast-moving, early-stage environmentCOMPENSATION
Base salary varies by level and experience :
Junior level : approximately $95K–$120KMid level : approximately $135K–$165KSenior level : approximately $175K–$210K+WHY THIS ROLE
