Residential Route Driver-Warehouse

Blue Earth Compost is a residential, commercial, and event food scrap collection company. We collect food scraps from our customers and deliver them to a processing facility where they are turned into renewable energy and compost. We see food scraps as a valuable resource that can help improve our soil, water, and air.

About the Role

This is a dual-purpose position that will focus both on the collection of food scraps from our residential customers within Hartford & New Haven County and on facilitating our warehouse operations. For the driving portion, you will be driving a delivery-style step van or pickup truck, depending on your route. For the warehouse portion, you will be tasked with cleaning collection receptacles and other general maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Collecting from residential and small commercial customers in step van and / or pickup truck
• Performing pre-trip inspections of vehicle, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are stocked and in working order, and maintaining appearance of vehicle
• Using a cell phone app and GPS to track data about collections
• Loading and unloading trucks
• Delivering compost to customers
• Cleaning collection receptacles at the warehouse
