Financial Controller (C.E.A)

To be considered, please apply through your CalCareers account at to JC- by the application deadline of 2 / 1 / .Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Financial Controller will lead the development and standardization of California Correctional Training and Rehabilitation Authority’s (CALCTRA) standards, program, and business processes for fiscal planning. This position has oversight for the Accounting Services and Inventory Management Section. Responsible for making high level decisions and formulating, recommending, and implementing major departmental policies and strategies to the CFO and the executive team on all areas related to CALCTRA's fiscal related initiatives. Directly supervises the Accounting Administrator III.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate : Demonstrate managerial experience providing direction and leadership on various Fiscal related program policies and procedures.

Demonstrate experience directly managing and providing oversight of a diverse Fiscal division, which includes multiple units.

Demonstrate experience in facilitating solutions to complex Fiscal related organizational problems and working in collaborative partnerships with all levels of staff and management to recommend and implement improvements.

Demonstrate leadership experience in developing, maintaining, and moinitoring Fiscal data related to a financial plan and / or project budget.

Demonstrate leadership experience providing expert advice and guidance to executive management, department staff, external customers, and control agencies on Fiscal related matters.
