We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Sr Staff Project / Program Management Specialist to lead multiple, concurrent development projects globally. This role requires an individual with exceptional leadership that has a proven track record of delivering and managing complex projects from concept to production while keeping to budget and on-time delivery.

You will be the central hub to drive a multi-disciplinary team of architects, hardware and software engineers to deliver on solution development. Your primary mission is to ensure flawless execution, mitigate risks proactively, and drive decisions that align with our strategic business objectives of performance, cost, and time-to-market.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Project Leadership : Manage the entire project lifecycle for multiple solution developments
  • Global Team Coordination : Lead and synchronize the efforts of large, dispersed, cross-functional teams across different time zones and cultures.
  • Strategic Planning & Scheduling : Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules (using Gantt charts, Agile / Waterfall hybrids), and resource allocation models. Identify critical paths and dependencies across projects.
  • Risk Management : Proactively identify, quantify, and develop mitigation strategies for technical, logistical, and supply chain risks. Lead contingency planning efforts.
  • Stakeholder Management : Serve as the primary point of contact for executive leadership, providing clear, concise, and data-driven updates on project status, risks, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Manage expectations and secure buy-in for critical decisions.
  • Process Improvement : Champion the continuous improvement of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices within the organization. Mentor junior project managers and technical leads.
  • Budget & Resource Management : Work with finance and functional managers to develop project budgets, track expenditures, and optimize resource utilization across the portfolio.
  • Quality & Compliance : Ensure all project deliverables meet the required quality, reliability, and compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Renesas is unable to sponsor applicants for work visas for this position now or in the future.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 8 years with a Master's degree or 12 years with a Bachelor's degree of direct project / program management experience within the semiconductor industry or at a product development firm.
  • Proven experience managing multiple complex semiconductor projects concurrently, from definition to production ramp.
  • Extensive experience working with global external partners (e.g., IP vendors, manufacturing / assembly partners / independent design houses) and internal teams across international sites.
  • Expertise with advanced project management tools (e.g., JIRA, MS Project, Confluence) and methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Critical Chain).
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to present complex issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly Desired :

  • Master's degree in a technical field or an MBA.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • Direct experience working with complex hardware and software projects.
  • Experience with AI / ML, HPC, or Automotive product development cycles and quality standards (e.g., ISO 26262, AEC-Q100).
  • Understanding of product and regulatory certifications (e.g. UL, FCC, CE, UKCA)
