This position conducts flight ground training classes within the assigned program, which enable the College to meet the current standards of accreditation, applicable federal and state licensing as well as all national, state and local regulations.
Essential Functions
• Teaches one or more assigned classes that perform ground instructor duties authorized by the Federal Aviation Regulations in accordance with the approved Training Course Outline
• Comply with FAR 141 Regulations
• Ensure that each student satisfactory progresses through the course and immediately informs the supervisor of any delays in training or satisfactory progress
• Assist in student retention
• Responsible for accurately maintaining all appropriate records to include student training records (ETA) and Campus Vue
• Ensure the course standards, and objectives are met by all assigned students as required in the approved Training Course Outline
• Recommend curriculum improvements when appropriate and develop new curriculum as assigned
• Maintain classroom equipment and training aids
• Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures
• Attend standardization and instructor development meetings as assigned
• Lecture class on all aspects of the approved Training Course Outline
• Assigns projects, observes students, grades projects and answers students' questions
• Administers written and practical examinations, accurately, maintains and completes grade and attendance reports
• Performs other incidental duties as assigned

• Ability to quickly assess candidate's skills/qualifications and attributes and make
placements/recommendations as appropriate.
• Experience using applicant tracking systems (i.e. Newton) and/or prior usage of a HRIS system.
Education and Work Experience
• High School diploma or GED required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 3 years preferred in teaching grounds instruction
Certificates, License, Registrations
• Current Flight Instructor Certification, or
• Advanced Ground Instructor Certification, or
• Instrument Ground Instructor Certificate

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This job operated in a clerical office setting, and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger; and talk or hear.
