Position Summary
The Engineering Manager oversees all Manufacturing Engineers, providing leadership, direction, and technical oversight to ensure manufacturing readiness, process optimization, and successful execution of new and existing production. This role requires strong technical knowledge, proven leadership experience, and excellent administrative and organizational skills.
Responsibilities & Expectations
Designs, implements, and refines product development and manufacturing processes.Manages staff and assigns tasks to engineering and technical personnel to adhere to schedule / delivery requirementsLeads teams in the development of new products, solutions, and processesOversees project logistics and resource allocationPresents project and schedule timelines to senior management and communicates critical task milestones in an effective mannerStrives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce wasteSecures the resources needed for the engineering team to excel, including researching and proposing capital investmentsHelps to create and oversee project budgets and engages in cost management strategiesAttends trade shows and conferences, and makes site visits to suppliers' facilitiesAdvocates on behalf of team members by securing adequate resources for successCommunicates technical information to non-technical stakeholders, including investors and potential customersMaintains high level expertise in their field or sectorAssures that processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelinesCollaborates with other team leaders and departmentsForges and maintains relationships with suppliers and customersQualifications & Education Requirements
Due to ITAR regulations, must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent ResidentBachelor's degree in Engineering or related field highly preferred3 to 5 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer required3 or more years of experience in a leadership, supervisory, or management role requiredStrong understanding of machining, CNC programming, tooling, and aerospace manufacturing processesExperience with 5-axis machining and multi-axis CNC programming strongly preferredStrong administrative skills, including organization, documentation, scheduling, and follow-throughExperience with advanced engineering software (CAD / CAM) and ERP systems preferredAbility to effectively present technical information to leadership, staff, and customersStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skillsHighly organized with excellent time management and ability to prioritize in fast-paced environmentsProficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, and related toolsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead teams to meet deadlinesPhysical Requirements
