We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Santa Ana, California. This role is crucial in overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and driving strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and a proven ability to manage complex accounting functions within a private equity-backed environment.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory management.
- Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and provide insightful forecasts to support strategic decisions.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to protect company assets and ensure compliance with legal regulations.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering collaboration and enhancing overall team productivity.
- Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits, ensuring all required documents and statements are submitted promptly.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and recommend actionable strategies to improve profitability.
- Ensure compliance with private equity reporting requirements and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Optimize document control processes, including scanning, compiling, and organizing financial records.
- Support the transition and integration of financial systems as needed to align with company objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Must Have : Recent PE backed experience to be considered for this role.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and compliance regulations.
- Proven experience working in a private equity-backed environment.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in document control processes, including scanning and organizing financial records.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and present actionable insights.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accurate financial documentation.
