Surgery Scheduler

Job Summary

This position schedules initial visits, surgeries, and post-op appointments based on the Physician's schedules and coordinates surgery and diagnostic procedure scheduling with performing departments based on physician's orders and schedule availability. The Surgery Scheduler provides direct education and preparation instructions to patients in the office to ensure patient understanding and proper pre-surgical preparation. The Surgery Scheduler answers incoming calls for referrals, office appointment scheduling, and patient information. This position gathers demographic and billing information from patients and referral sources and coordinates completion and retention of all needed paperwork throughout the surgery scheduling and follow up process including creating reminders for follow up care and completing outgoing referrals for additional care when directed by Physician. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Two years previous medical experience
