About the Role :
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing MEP design team in Florida. The ideal candidate will have experience leading the design and coordination of electrical systems for healthcare, multifamily, and commercial building projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and the capability to manage multiple projects from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead electrical design and documentation for healthcare, multifamily, and commercial facilities.
- Develop power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage system designs in accordance with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, Florida Building Code, etc.).
- Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with architects, structural, mechanical, and civil engineers.
- Review shop drawings and submittals; perform field inspections during construction.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers, ensuring quality control and adherence to project schedules.
- Interface directly with clients, contractors, and AHJs to resolve technical issues.
- Ensure designs comply with energy codes and sustainability goals (LEED or equivalent).
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida (or ability to obtain within 6 months).8+ years of relevant experience in building electrical design.Proven experience in healthcare or Aviation Buildings or multifamily or commercial project sectors.Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical calculation software (e.g., SKM, ETAP, EasyPower).Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70, NFPA 99, NFPA 101 , and related codes.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Preferred Skills :
Experience with lighting design software (e.g., AGi32 or Visual).Familiarity with Arc Flash studies , short circuit, and coordination studies.Experience designing systems for OSHPD / AHCA healthcare projects.LEED accreditation or familiarity with sustainable design practices.Benefits :
