FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Educational Foundations and Counseling Programs in Hunter College’s School of Education seeks candidates for a Doctoral Lecturer position.
The Hunter College School of Education is committed to educating a diverse student population.
Duties include : 1) teaching 4 graduate courses each semester in our counselor education programs, 2) student advisement, 3) serving on program, department, school, college and university committees, where appropriate, and 4) participating in professional organizations such as the American Counseling Association, American Psychological Association, American School Counseling Association, and regional / national / international organizations.
QUALIFICATIONS
All candidates must have a demonstrated professional school identity and / or experience working with children and youth.
Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications : 1. have an earned doctoral degree in counselor education, preferably from a CACREP accredited program; or 2. have a related doctoral degree and have been employed as a full-time faculty member in a counselor education program for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013. Priority will be given to doctorates in Counselor Education and Supervision.
A master’s degree in School Counseling and / or certification in School Counseling is preferred, in addition to doctoral degree.
As such, all candidates must have experience with diverse populations and must have a commitment to work in multicultural and urban settings. Teaching experience is preferred. Program leadership experience and interest is highly preferred.
Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
COMPENSATION
Lecturer (Doctoral) : $75,215-$88,998commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
