Responsibilities Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center, a subsidiary of UHS , is a beautiful, conveniently located, private -bed hospital in Oakland Park, FL that specializes in the treatment of drug addiction, mental health issues and concurrent disorders for adults as well as adolescents. Qualifications Education/Training:
- Master’s Degree from accredited school in Social Work, or Mental Health Counseling.
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required or equivalent
Experience:
- Two (2) years of experience working in a Behavioral Health Center or psychiatric counseling setting with adults and/or adolescents treating co-occurring, mentally ill, or chemically dependent patients, with an understanding of co-occurring disorders, and Cultural Linguistic Diversity amongst patients.
Licensure/Certification :
- CPR certification
- Preferred licensure as LCSW, LMHC, or CAP
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong therapeutic skills and knowledge of therapeutic philosophies (group and individual treatment skills)
- Working knowledge of developmental stages
- Some minimal knowledge of community resources
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients with varied ability to understand
- Some minimal knowledge of community resources
- Ability to work with a diverse population and open to learning and understanding different perspectives
- Experience conducting mental health assessments and providing appropriate diagnoses utilizing the DSM V
