Engineering Assistant

Position Overview

As an Engineering Assistant at JLL you will jumpstart your career in commercial real estate and building operations. Under supervision you will support the inspection maintenance and repair of mechanical electrical and plumbing equipment and systems in a multi-site portfolio in Round Rock TX. This entry-level on-site position is part of a multi-year training program designed to pave the way for your career growth in the engineering field.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment including HVAC electrical plumbing carpentry and painting tasks.

Perform routine and preventive maintenance of mechanical electrical plumbing structural fire / life safety and control systems to ensure safe and continuous operation.

Complete work orders in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and maintain accurate service documentation.

Move office furniture machinery and equipment as required.

Maintain a clean and safe workspace and properly store use and dispose of tools and hazardous materials.

Participate in ongoing technical safety and process training.

Respond to on-call emergencies and urgent maintenance issues as scheduled.

Ensure all work in tenant / client spaces is performed with minimal disruption and proper cleanup.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Eligibility to join an approved assistant program (if applicable).

Preferred : One year of hands-on experience in maintenance HVAC / refrigeration electrical or related trades.

Basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and comfortable working on ladders up to 30 feet.

Willing and able to frequently climb bend kneel lift and occasionally drive.

Strong customer service skills and good written / oral communication abilities.

Must be a team player reliable and organized.

Willingness to work call-in or after-hours shifts as required.
