Position Overview
As an Entry-Level Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in supporting reconstruction efforts for our clients. We invite qualified candidates who are eager to learn and develop their carpentry skills. You will primarily benefit from on-the-job training (OJT) through collaboration with more experienced carpenters. This position is part of the Progressive Carpenter track, with three levels of development aimed at enhancing supervisory skills, tool competency, and an understanding of field operations specific to the restoration industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow directions from experienced carpenters and supervisors effectively.
- Safely move and protect contents to prevent damage.
- Build effective containment to manage construction dust, dirt, and airborne contaminants.
- Execute tasks such as floodcutting and salvaging baseboards, cabinets, and doors, using appropriate tools and BELFOR methods.
- Gain knowledge about various materials related to trims, doors, and cabinetry.
- Develop proficiency in insulation installation.
- Acquire foundational knowledge in framing, trim installation, and cabinetry installation under supervision.
- Learn to 'dry-in' a building regarding roofing material installation under guidance.
- Understand and adhere to MSDS protocols for chemicals used in mitigation processes.
- Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections and maintain vehicles in a clean, serviceable condition.
- Pay attention to detail and uphold BELFOR standards in property safeguarding.
- Exhibit strong customer service skills and understand principles and practices to ensure client satisfaction.
- Meet specific work timelines while managing time constraints.
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed, and travel periodically for projects.
- Report time and resources used accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in BELFOR-sponsored operations and safety training courses as required.
Requirements
