Vaco is hiring for a Temporary Payroll Specialist role in Pittsburgh PA

Salary : 18-20 / hr

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Payroll Specialist to assist our HR and Payroll teams with data entry, auditing, and payroll accuracy verification. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and prior experience with payroll systems— UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) experience is a major plus.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with payroll or accounting support experience who enjoys process improvement, data accuracy, and hands-on administrative work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Enter and verify employee timesheet data in the payroll system with accuracy and timeliness.

Scan, organize, and file payroll-related forms and documentation for compliance and recordkeeping.

Audit payroll reports for discrepancies and ensure corrections are made prior to processing.

Review employee hours, deductions, and adjustments for accuracy in alignment with company policy.

Assist with payroll processing cycles as directed by the Payroll Manager.

Support HR and Finance teams with ad-hoc reporting and data validation tasks.

Maintain confidentiality of employee information and payroll data at all times.

Qualifications

2+ years of payroll, accounting, or administrative data entry experience required.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy.

Experience with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) or other major HRIS / payroll platforms is highly preferred .
