VOTER OUTREACH WORKER

The Position
We're seeking people to join our exciting campaign advancing economic, racial, and environmental justice in East Oakland! We are building a team of social justice advocates to educate and mobilize residents on why voting now is more important than ever, and to highlight the key statewide fights ahead in this special election season. Sharing this information and getting to know our Oakland communities more deeply will prepare us to win on regional and state-wide issues.
We are currently seeking to fill positions for Voter Outreach Workers. Voter Outreach Workers will be responsible for contacting thousands of voters by phone and through door-to-door canvassing.
This is a temporary hourly part-time job from October 6th through November 4th. Workers will work 5 days a week (Sunday-Thursday) for 4.5 hours per day, 3 : 30pm-8 : 30pm.
The Voter Outreach Worker reports directly to the Outreach Worker Lead & IVE Manager

EMPLOYMENT TERMS :
This position has a rate of $28 / hour. This position is part-time, non-exempt and temporary.
STIPENDS (attendance dependent) : $5 daily technology stipend provided when door-to-door canvassing if using one's phone.
MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT : Available for Outreach Workers who are able to use their personal cars for conducting outreach work. Does not include miles commuting to workplace.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
For walks : this position requires walking for at least 3 hours daily to canvass door-to-door. Outreach Workers will need to walk one precinct a day, which is approximately 10-12 city blocks.
For phonebank : this position requires sitting and talking on the phone for an extended period (45 mins at a time for three hours).
All Outreach Workers will be required to do both walks and phonebank shifts.
