Instrumentation Technician

Overview

PLCs Plus International is seeking an Instrumentation Technician for our Midland Texas operations

Position Summary

The Instrumentation Technician reports directly to the I&E staff and is responsible for testing and commissioning all control system components and loops as directed. Duties include, but are not limited to :

• Assisting in planning as required
• Calibration and maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, chemical, electrical and electronic process controls and measurement instrumentation to approved procedure
• Understand, evaluate, and execute tests and procedures properly
• Safely and efficiently execute daily tasks related to calibration and instrumentation activities
• Develop and improve maintenance procedures
• Install, maintain, repair, overhaul, calibrate and test a wide variety of industrial instrumentation such as control valves, transmitters, radars, levels, controlling and regulating level, flow, pressure and temperature meters
• Execute preventative maintenance inspections on all instrumentation equipment
• Interpret, evaluate and document calibration test results
• Ensure that there is adequate data sheets and system documentation to complete all required pre-commissioning and commissioning checks and tests
• Verify all test equipment is NIST Traceable and has a current calibration date
• Utilize industry standards for testing such as ISA or another recognized and approved standard
• Complete Red lines and B check sheets as required

Work is usually done outside at a job site / field site that may have inclement weather conditions. The incumbent will be required to drive / travel to many locations within the Permian Basin. The incumbent is exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicles and equipment.
