Security Guard
Security Guards also known as our Public Safety Ambassadors, protect and guard University property; maintain order among public and UCSF community; monitor and control entry to restricted areas; inspect areas to prevent fires, accidents and other hazards; direct visitors and answer questions concerning building and / or exhibit layouts; and perform other related duties as required.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors, including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The hourly range for this position is $22.22 - $29.87. Department Description
The UCSF Security Services Division strives to ensure the safety and security of learners, staff, and patients inside and outside of UCSF properties, clinics, and health facilities. They assist UCSF PD to provide a crime-free and safe environment through the highest level of professional services, integrity, respect, and excellent customer service. The UCSF Security Services Division is a Division in the UCSF Police Department. The UCSF Police Department's overriding mission is to enhance the safety and quality of life for students, faculty and staff across the UCSF system. By working in partnership with the community, UCSF PD strives to promote public safety and crime prevention through education and enforcement; to maintain public order while preserving the legal rights of all individuals; to provide efficient and courteous service; and to reduce the impact of crime. The UCSF Police Department is known for its community service orientation, effectiveness at preventing crime through campus community involvement, and for providing a safe living and working environment for the promotion of education, research and public service. The Security Services Division provides site security services to a daily population of over 60,000 people at university and contract locations. UCSF Fresno Regional Campus is an educational and clinical branch campus of UCSF that is located in the Central San Joaquin Valley and is administered by the Office of the Associate Dean in Fresno. UCSF Fresno is focused on improving health in California's San Joaquin Valley through excellence in medical education (physician training) and patient care and innovative clinical research and community partnerships. The UCSF Fresno Regional Campus supports 9 residency programs, 17 fellowship programs, 3 PA programs, the SJV Prime and SJV Prime+ medical student program and several pipeline programs.
