Position Information Position Title: Temporary Pool- Building Environmental Services Technician (Housekeeper) Working Title: Housekeeper Position Number: -Temp-Staff Full-time or Part-time: Full Time Time Limited Position: No Number of Vacancies: Multiple Vacancies Department: Temporary Pools - Facilities Management Posting Number: SHRA/EHRA: SHRA Job Category: Service/Maintenance Hiring Range: $13.00 - $15.00 hourly Overall Position Competency: Temporary Primary Purpose of the Organization: The Department of Facilities Management functions are to design, construct, maintain and operate the physical facilities of the University. The number one objective of the department is to provide and maintain facilities that will enhance and support the mission and academic goals of the University. Our approach is centered upon providing a superior level of customer service. The primary responsibility of the organizational unit is providing cleaning, sanitizing and floor care to campus housing and academic and administrative buildings. Primary Purpose of the Position: The overall function of this position is to utilize a standard cleaning assignment to clean and sanitize an area of responsibility within a building(s). The position is also responsible for reporting discrepancies found within the building in addition to responding to emergencies and inclement weather. The position will use standard housekeeping equipment to accomplish assigned tasks such as:

• Vacuuming
• Mopping
• Scrubbing
• Dusting
• Disinfecting
• Floor work
• Operating floor machinery
• Emptying trash and recycling containers and other duties as assigned

Working Hours: This position is scheduled for up to 40 hours per week. Weekly scheduled days and work hours will vary and may include weekends, evenings and holidays. Advance notice of schedules will be provided. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• To ensure the safety and well-being of all employees, the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include safety shoes is required in designated work areas. Employees are responsible for obtaining and wearing the required safety shoes before beginning work and throughout the duration of work in areas where foot protection is necessary. Safety shoe should include a Reinforced toe protection (steel or composite toe caps) to guard against falling objects, Puncture-resistant soles to prevent injuries from sharp objects and Slip-resistant outsoles to reduce the risk of slips and falls.

Interpersonal Skills: Manages resources and co-workers to distribute workload even during peak periods. Dependability: Arrives at work, staff meetings and other functions on time. Follows University, facilities Management, and work area annual and sick leave policies. Notifies supervisor before the beginning of shift if you are going to be late or absent. B Notify supervisor well in advance of any upcoming absences. Initiative: Takes actions to improve performance of self and others, goes beyond what is called for to complete a task, and seeks solutions to problems before being asked to do so. Teamwork: Willingly cooperates with supervisors and co-workers to accomplish assigned tasks. Maintains a positive attitude towards supervisor, co-workers and the job. Respectfully discusses most effective way to perform tasks and then works together to get the job done. Attention to Detail: Ability to accomplish tasks and processes accurately and completely. Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience performing housekeeping duties in a university or commercial environment.
