What You’ll Be Doing — Stop Scanning and Read This Part
- Demonstrate Good Laboratory Practices by maintaining laboratory cleanliness, stocking materials, and performing basic laboratory measurements (viscosity, pH, weights, moisture analyzer, etc.).
- Assist in evaluating incoming flavor ingredients and raw materials by identifying key characteristics, assessing functionality, and providing feedback to the Sensory Manager.
- Actively participate in daily sensory evaluation panels of finished goods, identifying key attributes within defined specifications.
- Support sensory training, panel maintenance, and evaluation sessions for cross-functional team members, contributing to a knowledgeable and effective panel.
- Prepare and set up sensory panels to ensure efficient and accurate evaluation sessions.
- Maintain organized systems for sample and reference storage in accordance with company standards.
- Ship samples to other company sites as needed, following proper documentation and procedures.
- Make informed decisions and provide direction to cross-functional partners in the absence of the Sensory Manager to ensure continuity of operations.
- Assist in conducting shelf-life studies that support product quality and ingredient longevity assessments.
- Collaborate with the Sensory Manager and cross-functional partners to develop specifications for raw materials, blends, and finished products.
- Accurately record sensory and product data to maintain clear historical records for future analysis.
- Evaluate, write, and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions, ensuring compliance with best practices.

4 years of lab experience with exposure to sensory evaluation OR a bachelor’s degree in a science-related field with a minimum of 2 years of sensory-related experience.High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in a science-related field preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Highly acute sense of smell and taste.Working understanding of food industry quality and food safety standards.Strong math and computer skills (Google Suite or Microsoft Office Suite).Ability to multitask and deliver results efficiently and accurately.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally.Demonstrated adaptability, eagerness to learn, and comfort in manufacturing environments.Someone that can partner and influence at all different levels.Ability to handle multiple priorities and navigate in a fast-moving environment.A relentless drive to get things done.Flexible, willing, and quick to learn new processes, technology, and ways of thinking.Why You Might Like Working Here
