Emergency Medical Technician

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to join our team in supporting clients through detox and stabilization. EMTs play a critical role in working alongside Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs), providing frontline medical support, monitoring, and crisis response. This role requires strong clinical skills, adaptability, and the ability to work with individuals experiencing substance use and mental health challenges.

Primary Responsibilities

• Floating Shifts - Days (7AM to 3PM), Evenings (3PM to 11PM) and Nights (11PM to 7AM) with Some Weekends
• Provide direct support to LVNs during assigned shifts.
• Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate).
• Conduct medical assessments when an LVN is not present.
• Evaluate intoxication levels and identify risk for withdrawal or detox complications.
• Administer breathalyzer tests.
• Screen for medical complaints (e.g., chest pain, cough, injuries, bruising, rashes).
• Assess consciousness and behavior for safety and stability.
• Conduct brief psychiatric needs screenings.
• Perform delegated wound care.
• Administer withdrawal assessment tools as a backup to LVNs.

Qualifications

• Current State of New Mexico EMT Certification (required to legally practice).
• Basic understanding of Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and Mental Health (MH).
• Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
• Valid New Mexico driver's license with a clean driving record.
