EHS Specialist

Essential Responsibilities :

• Technical and administrative support for Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental functional areas.
• Assists with communication, coordination, and scheduling of required training, technical training, and other departmental activities (i.e. ERT training, audiograms, respirator physicals, etc.).
• Assists with communication and training of all PRO-TEC Associates, temporaries, and contract employees, as necessary. This includes initial training for new Associates, required annual training including computer-based training implementation, contractor training, and others.
• Responsible for data collection, entry, and reporting of EHS metrics (safety binder, leading / lagging indicators, housekeeping, etc.) to others in department.
• Manages training compliance through exception reports and administering missed training compliance in Training Tracker.
• Maintains familiarity with PRO-TEC hazardous waste definitions and procedures and accumulation area management requirements. May sign hazardous waste manifest and land disposal restriction notifications after proper training.
• Assists with regulatory sampling and other regulatory compliance tasks.
• Liaison with shift Safety Leaders, EHS Interns, and Management regarding EHS concerns and action items.
• Interfaces with Associates to promote regulatory compliance with PRO-TEC programs and policies.
• Performs regulatory inspections and other activities in the facility.
• Performs requested updates to policies, procedures, and Work Instructions applicable to the department.
• Orders safety equipment and commercial printed materials. Inputs purchasing requests for Safety and Environmental into MP2 system.
• Assists with a wide variety of monitoring, recordkeeping, and documentation.
• Assists with activities administered by company nurse or vendor.
