POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for set-up and operation of technical theater equipment for various
events throughout the district put on by various schools, departments, and Rockwood community
organizations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise group using Rockwood facilities as needed.
- Set up and operate theatrical lighting, sound, and rigging equipment.
- Clean and return Rockwood spaces to original condition when event is finished.
- Work with custodial department at designated location to ensure space is locked up and secure.
- Supervise group using Rockwood facilities when a Rockwood staff member is not present.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must work well as part of a team and individually.
- Ability to establish and execute priorities with minimum direction or instruction.
- Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to judge when situations and/or information should be called to the attention of supervisor
- Ability to access and work in a variety of locations within Rockwood School District, and work non-traditional hours which may include nights and weekends.
- Ability to bend, twist, lift and manipulate equipment, supplies and mail, including lifting up to 50 pounds on occasion and 20-30 pounds repetitively.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: - Minimum 18 years of age or older; high school diploma or GED/HSE preferred.
- Basic knowledge of use and operation of theatrical lighting, sound, and rigging systems preferred.
- Technical theater management experience preferred.
- Reliable transportation to and from various events.
EQUIPMENT USED: - Theatrical light, sound and rigging equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: - Within assigned buildings in Rockwood School District locations.
- While performing duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand and reach.
